Summertime is the best time to dive into a new world, and podcasts provide the perfect portal whether we are road-tripping, sitting by the pool, or working at our computers and wishing we were someplace else. Podcasts let us escape or learn something new while we get things done, which is why I have fallen in love with this not-so-guilty pleasure.
I began listening in the car when I wanted to learn how to publish a book. The volumes of info I could take in as I drove the three hours to my parents' house sold me. But then, I discovered S Town. The stories pulled me into another universe and made me look forward to driving. Apparently, the podcast craze took over the whole town. I began to have to flag down friends at the soccer field, noticing they were engrossed by their earbuds.
Now, totally sold on podcasts, I decided to ask my readers what they were listening to this summer, and I've been busy ever since!
