I found this post today on a page I follow, "Over 1,000,000 children under the age of six on psychiatric drugs in America.." If this number doesn't cause alarm, we must be comatose.
It strikes me very personally because of my daughter. I detail how close we were to choosing major drugs for her at the age of 4, when we decided to take a leap of faith and change our diets significantly. I detail this journey in Growing the Good Life, which you can download for free on this page. She is not on medication and is smart, beautiful, and thriving. Side benefit? I got off my meds with her.
What made us take the chance on food and lifestyle was the mounting evidence that food actually is medicine. We believed in the growing data that showed when we feed our cells what they need to function correctly, they do.
I hope you'll take that leap before you take the prescription for your little one. It's worth a shot, anyway. Right?
